Buffett Belly-Flop

Wednesday, 26 January 2011 03:21 PM EST

Jimmy Buffett unexpectedly crowd surfed Tuesday during a concert in Sydney, Australia, after falling off the stage after being blinded by flashing lights.

Buffett collapsed in front of the stage, leaving him unconscious for upwards of five minutes, and causing a huge gash in his head.

Sean Fogarty told TMZ that 64-year-old Buffett fell during an encore of “Lovely Cruise” as he walked dangerously close to the edge of the stage.

The quick, bright flash of light blinded the singer and he fell. Fogarty says the sound of Buffet’s head hitting metal was audible.

Concert goers were quickly escorted out of the Hordern Pavilion where the concert took place.

Buffet is undergoing observation at St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.
