Top 5 Employers in Georgia: Which Companies Have the Most Jobs?

Jobs are plentiful with Georgia's employers. In fact, according to CNBC, the Peach State was the top state to work in for 2014.

These are the top five employers in Georgia, based on the number of employees in the workforce:

1. Coca-Cola Company

Globally, Coca-Cola has 830,000 public and private employees. In Georgia, Coca-Cola employs more than 130,000 people. The soft drink company is headquartered in Atlanta.

2. Aflac

The mascot duck says it all: AFLAC! Headquartered in Columbus, the company was named by Fortune magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” for the 16th consecutive year.

It posted $25.4 billion in revenue in 2012, and employs 465,000 workers, of whom 70 percent are women. The insurance company also offers training and development classes, free health screenings, and daycare centers.

3. UPS

The world headquarters of the $55.4 billion messenger company is located in Atlanta.
It was recognized by Forbes magazine as “America’s Second Most Reputable Company” in 2014.

The company offers its 395,000 employees a variety of training programs and savings programs, and it even offers part-time employees full-time health benefits.

4. Home Depot


Headquartered in Atlanta, the world’s largest home improvement center employs more than 300,000 people nationwide and had revenue of $78.8 billion in 2014. The company also provides tuition reimbursement and outstanding health benefits to employees.

5. Delta Airlines

With the company’s largest hub in Atlanta, Delta soars when it comes to job growth.
The airline employs 80,000 people worldwide, posted revenue of $37.7 billion in 2013, and offers robust health, financial, and travel benefits. Delta was even named to Fortune magazine’s “50 Most Admired Companies” in 2014.
