Congress Votes to Fund Obama's Amnesty

Frank Gaffney By Monday, 23 February 2015 10:55 AM EST Current | Bio | Archive

This week, legislators will demonstrate whether they are going to fulfill their oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution," or whether they will be complicit in Barack Obama’s serial violations of his.

The test will come as Senate Democrats hold hostage funding for the Department of Homeland Security unless Republicans allow the President to continue to amend, or eviscerate, immigration laws without congressional assent.

Hats off to House Republicans who have refused to compromise the constitutional principle that only Congress can make law. Their Senate counterparts are to be congratulated for, to date, not folding either.

If our Republic is to survive the next two years of Team Obama’s trashing the Constitution, Congress must hold the line. The DHS funding bill is the place to start.
