Mediaite founder and legal analyst Dan Abrams says Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is alleging "multiple incidents" of sexual harassment by the network's embattled CEO Roger Ailes.
In an interview on ABC's
"Good Morning America" on Wednesday, Abrams cites an unnamed source for the latest bombshell in the unfolding story involving the vaunted Fox News honcho, who is now reportedly in talks to
leave the network.
"The source tells me that multiple Fox News talent — women both current and/or former — have come forward to allege possible harassment by Roger Ailes and that's why it's moving so quickly, because it's so clear to the owners know that something needs to be done," Abrams says, adding Kelly herself has alleged "multiple incidents of harassment."
Video of the interview was posted on
Mediaite.
"It's going to be a business decision" if Ailes leaves Fox News with a big golden parachute, Abrams adds. "And if in the end they decide it's easier and cleaner for them to settle this, then they will.
"They may take the position, 'Look, we're not going to make a judgment here about whether we think Roger Ailes harassed anyone. What we are going to do is try to end this by reaching some sort of settlement.'"
Abrams added he believes whatever the outcome with Ailes and Fox News, a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment against Ailes by fired "Fox & Friends" anchor Gretchen Carlson "will likely continue and the more women who she can get to potentially come forward, potentially the stronger her lawsuit could become."
Ailes has
denied sexually harassing Carlson or Kelly.
