Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., stunned Washington reporters on Thursday night by not only saying that his party has gone "bats--t crazy," but also noting that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is so disliked, no one in the Senate would look to convict his murderer, the Washington Examiner reports.

"If you kill Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial is at the Senate, no one will convict you," he said.

Graham added that the Republican Party is in such disarray that the country will be ready to elect Hillary Clinton as president, or in Graham's terms, the "most dishonest woman in America."

"How can that be?" he asked. "Because my party has gone bats--t crazy."

"Ben Carson is a nice guy," he continued. "He tried to kill his cousin."

Although the South Carolina Republican dropped his own bid for president early on, the Washington Examiner notes that Graham wonders how he could "lose against such a field of GOP candidates."

According to the Washington Examiner, this is not the first time Graham has made such comments about his party and the candidates in which he was running against.

"The comments echoed some Graham made earlier in the day when he spoke to reporters in the Capitol and called Trump a 'loser' and a 'nut job' and said the party bought a ticket on the Titanic even though they knew how the movie ends."
