MSNBC Slammed for Debate 'Advice' to Candidates

MSNBC gave Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton a series of pithy pointers on how to win the first presidential debate — but the liberal cable news network's cheeky advice was quickly criticized on Twitter, The Hill reports.

In a graphic shown Monday morning, MSNBC advised Trump to:

  • Stop lying;
  • Show humility;
  • Fill in the gaps in his policy proposals.

The network then advised Clinton:

  • Sell her presidency (What she would do and how she would do it);
  • Be the Clinton that shines in smaller crowds;
  • Get those jokes off, adding levity.

Not soon after, tweets started pouring in from disgruntled viewers who didn't take kindly to MSNBC's "advice."
