Late Campaigning Points to Economy, Women's Issues

Sunday, 02 November 2014 06:43 AM EST

Candidates in crucial Senate races are clashing over women's issues and the economy, and both parties are predicting victory in Tuesday's election that will determine Senate control.

Republicans seem to have more reason to be optimistic that they can add a Senate majority to the one they already hold in the House.

The head of the Democratic National Committee, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, insists that Democrats will keep power in the Senate.

But her GOP counterpart, Reince Priebus, describes what he calls a growing consensus that his party will rise to power in the Senate.

Priebus says he's feeling pretty confident about where Republicans stand in races across the country, and he says the Democratic edge among women in some races is shrinking.
