Several large groups are working frantically — and pouring millions of dollars — into stopping Donald Trump in Florida in hopes that rival Marco Rubio will win his state's primary on March 15.
The Sunshine State is "going to be a very, very important state to stop Trump in," Katie Packer, who heads the anti-Trump Our Principles PAC,
told The Hill. "I suspect there will be no place we will be more invested than there."
The American Future Fund, a large nonprofit group that opposes Trump, is already running $1.75 million in ads in major Florida markets, said spokesman Stuart Roy.
"You don’t want to duplicate effort," he told the Hill, adding that his group was working with Packer's. "We are in a compressed timeframe [to stop Trump], and we need to be effective."
Both groups are hitting the developer on lawsuits targeting his now-defunct Trump University.

Trump has dominated polls in Florida — and he gains momentum after having won seven states on Super Tuesday.
Rubio received his first primary victory on Tuesday, the Minnesota caucuses.
Other groups involved in the effort include the Club for Growth's political action, which announced a $1.5 million ad buy that begins Thursday, and the pro-Rubio Conservative Solutions PAC, whose effort totals $10 million, the Hill reports.
