Pat Buchanan says he’s not surprised that some Argentinians are dancing on Margaret Thatcher’s grave — but said their cheap potshots at beloved British prime minister prove she was doing an excellent job.
“Anyone who’s done anything in their whole life significant or has really stood up for what they believed in is going to have enemies,’’ Buchanan told Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show.’’

“They’re going to have people attacking them and often by the intensity of the attack tells you the effectiveness of how well you’re doing.’’

After the news of Thatcher’s death on Monday, a number of Argentinian newspapers, war veterans and residents criticized the “Iron Lady’’ for dispatching British troops to seize the Falkland Islands in 1982.
One Argentinian war veteran told CNN: “I'm not sure she is going to either heaven or hell because I'm not sure she is even human."
But Buchanan, who is a syndicated columnist and former presidential candidate, said Thatcher’s decision to take back the islands was absolutely proper.
“The Argentines tried to take the Falklands by force and Margaret Thatcher sent that task force down there, the carrier base task force, and took them back,’’ he said.
“She did exactly what she had a right to do and as a result of that, the Junta down there in Argentina was thrown out of office. So I don’t doubt that they’re angry with her.
“It’s an old saying in politics: if you’re picking up flack you’re probably over the target.
