Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Sunday tore into rival Hillary Clinton's campaign after an FBI announcement that its review of newly discovered emails did not change its July conclusion about Clinton's private email server.
At a rally in Minneapolis, the GOP candidate himself didn't directly address FBI Director James Comey's letter to lawmakers, but appeared to allude to it saying, "She’s protected by a rigged system. She shouldn’t even be allowed to run for president," The New York Times reported.
On Twitter, Conway responded to a tweet from Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon that it was confident in the FBI outcome all along.
"Then why did you, your colleagues, and your candidate attack Comey and his credibility?" Conway asked.
Federalist senior editor Mollie Ziegler Hemingway also took a shot at the Clinton campaign.
Some pundits speculated the news wouldn't undo the stain of email controversies that have swirled around Clinton for months, however.
Another poster noted the news might be worse for Comey.
