The twin explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon turned the city’s streets into a war zone with bloodied bodies and screams of horror, an eyewitness told Newsmax.

“You had one big bomb, one big blast. Then you had a second blast and everyone started yelling and screaming,” veteran public relations executive George Regan told Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show.”

“Cops were screaming at everyone to leave. ... Someone was pushing me, the police officers were [saying], ‘Get out of there!’” said Regan who spoke to Newsmax minutes after the blast as he huddled in a doorway as emergency crews raced to tend to the injured.

“It’s just horrible here, just total chaos. It's like we're in a movie. A very, very bad movie.

“I saw one person with no leg being brought into an ambulance.”

Regan said nobody really knew what had happened at first.

“With the first bomb I didn’t really think anything of it. The second one, everyone panicked. … It’s pretty much of a lockdown right now,” he said.

Regan, the chairman of Regan Communications, the largest privately held public relations company in New England, said he narrowly avoided being blown up himself.

“I’m very thankful for a TV reporter named Lisa Hughes of [CBS affiliate] WBZ-TV. There’s a bridge at the finish line where they take pictures. I was walking across the bridge with four or five other people and Lisa grabbed me,” he said.

“We were talking about a charity event and I was on the way down the stairs when the bombs went off. If she hadn’t been there, I probably would have been there — it was about a minute walk.

“I’m pretty shaken up,’’ Regan said.
