The amount of rain that fell in Texas over the weekend was measured at roughly 9 trillion gallons, roughly 7.4 percent of the water in Lake Erie, according to analysis in The Washington Post.

If you put all the water dumped by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey into a 1-mile square column at Lake Erie, it would tower 42,000 feet above your head, the Post analyzed.

Or, put another way, it would take 13.7 million years to drink the amount of rain that fell over the weekend, drinking 20 80-ounce glasses a minute, the Post reported.
