Economist Art Laffer expects a Republican landslide in November's presidential election, predicting victory for the GOP in up to 47 states.
"I would be surprised if the Republicans don’t take 45, 46, 47 states out of the 50," he said Sunday on
"The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York. "I mean, I think we’re going to landslide this election."
Laffer, an adviser to President Ronald Reagan's administration, said Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton "would be defeated handily. I don’t think Hillary’s going to win this election no matter whom she runs against. I mean, Hillary’s day is over."
Clinton has an impressive resume, but she has bad policies, he told host John Catsimatidis.
"This is a time for a new Reagan, and I think we're going to get a new Reagan," Laffer said.
Laffer said the economy will improve greatly after President Barack Obama leaves office in January, just as it did in 1980 after the election of Reagan.
