"Biggest Loser" host Bob Harper is recovering after suffering a serious heart attack two weeks ago, reports say.
Harper, who hosts the show, says he is “feeling better,” and posted photos on his Facebook page which show him sitting up in a hospital bed, Time magazine reported Tuesday.
“Well I guess you all heard what happened," he wrote. "Two weeks ago yesterday I had a heart attack. I am feeling better. Just taking it easy... I'm lucky to have such good friends and family to take care of me right now,” the magazine reported.
Harper, 51, took over the show last year, after serving as a trainer on it since its debut in 2004.
He has appeared on several “Biggest Loser” DVD’s, is a vegan and works on behalf of animal rights causes.
He also designed the online fitness program, “Daily Burn,” which is a 60-day weight loss program.
Harper collapsed while working out in a New York City fitness gym two years ago, and needed to be administered CPR, says TMZ, which first broke the news.
A doctor who was also working out used paddles to keep TV reality star alive, the site adds.
He was unconscious and work up two days later in a hospital. Although he lives in Los Angeles, he is still in New York because his doctors have not cleared him to fly, the media site says.
Although he is now out of the hospital, Harper must wear a heart monitor so doctors can keep track of his condition, he has written on Facebook.
Harper attributed the heart attack to genetics, telling TMZ that his mother died of a heart attack.
