The mainstream media is shunning the tea party once more. Only one television network – CNN – plans to broadcast Rep. Michele Bachmann’s response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address Tuesday evening,
The Hill reports. However, Newsmax.com plans to provide a live feed of the Minnesota Republican's comments at about 10 p.m. Eastern time.
Bachmann will deliver a speech to the Tea Party Express, which will provide a live stream of the remarks on its website. NBC, CBS, ABC, and the Fox broadcast network won't televise the talk, their spokesmen say. And the same is true for Fox News and MSNBC on cable.
The Republicans’ official response is coming from Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee.
Bachmann, who is chairwoman of the House Tea Party Caucus, created a stir last week when she revealed that she would deliver her own, separate response to Obama in coordination with one of the largest tea party groups.
