President Barack Obama calls the late Alexander Haig "a great American" who served his country with distinction.
The former secretary of state, who also was a four-star general, died Saturday in a Baltimore hospital. He was 85.
Obama says Haig exemplified the nation's "finest warrior-diplomat tradition" of those serve the public.
The president says Haig had a "remarkable and decorated" career.
