Referring to the U.N.’s Paris climate fear-fest as “a powerful rebuke to the terrorists” President Obama is leading a formidable coalition of countries armed with windmill and sunbeam-powered weapons which will bring ISIS and Iran cold sweats . . . draining them (and the world) of climate-ravaging oil markets.

Our leader isn’t alone among progressive liberal allies in this war on sanity. In the immediate aftermath of attacks which killed at least 129 and wounded hundreds more in Paris, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, speaking during the November Democratic debate, claimed that “climate change is directly related to the growth of terrorism.”

He intoned: “If we do not get our act together and listen to what the scientists say, you’re going to see countries all over the world — this is what the CIA says — they’re going to be struggling over limited amounts of water, limited amounts of land to grow their crops. And you’re going to see all kinds of international conflict.”

The next day Sanders told CBS, “When people migrate into cities and they don’t have jobs, there’s going to be a lot more instability, a lot more unemployment, and people will be subject to types of propaganda that al-Qaida and ISIS are using right now.”

Nor was Sen. Sanders the first to mouth such nonsense. President Obama has repeatedly emphasized a national security priority for U.S. leadership to finally end more than four billion years of climate changes.

During his Jan. 20, 2015 State of the Union Address he said “No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.”

Repeating the standard fiction that fourteen of the fifteen warmest years “on record” have occurred since 2000, he omitted the fact that satellite data, the most comprehensive and accurate records available, show no statistical warming since 1998 (a major El Niñoyear), and that temperatures were at least a warm during the 1930s through mid-1940s when atmospheric CO2 levels were lower.

Then, without missing a bleat, he went on to warn: “The best scientists in the world are all telling us that our activities are changing the climate, and if we do not act forcefully, we’ll continue to see rising oceans, longer, hotter heat waves, dangerous droughts and floods, and massive disruptions that can trigger greater migration, conflict, and hunger around the globe."

Actually, this isn’t true either. Sea levels which have been rising about seven inches per century since the end of the little ice age about 1850 continue to do so at the same rate; and heat waves and droughts follow unexceptional patterns, as do floods.

But then, once again . . . he added the big clincher: "The Pentagon says that climate change poses immediate risks to our national security."

Although he didn’t explain why or how this is the case, here’s a little bit of background.

A while back, some Pentagon security planners latched onto a report released by former India Air Marshal A.K. Singh which foresaw melting Himalayan glaciers causing mass migrations across national borders, with militaries  (including ours) becoming involved.

According to theory, this would cause rivers fed by those melts to flood, endangering tens of millions of people in lowland Bangladesh.

And who predicted this glacial calamity?

Well perhaps it won’t come as a big surprise that it was none other than the U.N.’s venerable Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. (IPCC) later admitted that the dire delusion was completely fabricated with absolutely no supporting science by a fellow who worked for its director.

Joining the frantic folly, presumed Democratic presidential pick Hillary Clinton has joined President Obama’s climate crisis religion choir.

Speaking at a September 2014 National Energy Summit Conference in Las Vegas, she called climate change “the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face as a nation and a world.”

Ever true to scripted talking points, she said: “the data is unforgiving, no matter what the deniers [skeptics like me] assert. Sea levels are rising [just as they have been over the past 200 years], ice caps are melting [as others grow], storms, droughts and wildfires are wreaking havoc [nothing new here either].”

But Hillary has significantly influenced military entanglement in the feverish climate fracas. In 2007 she and fellow Senate Armed Services Committee member John Warner, R-Va., snuck some language into the National Defense Authorization Act which got them into the climate protection business whether they wanted to be or not.

In other words, the Department of Defense is being forced to incorporate climate change “threats” into its long-range plans despite no evidence of any problem.

Meanwhile, we can presumably relax about lesser threats such as radical Muslim terrorism, illegal immigrants streaming across our porous borders, an exploding federal debt approaching $20 trillion, and more than 100 million households receiving government welfare.
