Chavez Says Obama Handled Clint Eastwood Criticism With Class

Wednesday, 05 September 2012 07:42 PM EDT

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that U.S. President Barack Obama handled criticism from actor Clint Eastwood at the Republican National Convention with class.

Chavez, 58, who is seeking re-election on Oct. 7, said that he is also dealing with rising criticism from the media and Venezuela’s opposition in similar ways as Obama. Chavez said that he is a fan of Eastwood’s films as well as fellow actors Sean Connery and Charles Bronson.

Chavez said that while Obama faces a difficult election in the U.S., it’s “mathematically” impossible for him to lose to his rival Henrique Capriles Radonski.
