Rep. Jason Chaffetz doesn't have the security clearance to view Hillary Clinton's emails, despite the fact that he is the chairman of the House's chief investigative body.
"The sensitivity of the material is such that even I, as the chairman of the Oversight Committee … I don't have the proper security clearance as a member of Congress to look at this," Chaffetz said, according to the Washington Examiner.
"It goes to the nature of how this very sensitive material, material that put people's lives in danger, was out there in the open."
Chaffetz, R-Utah, said the documents germane to the FBI's year-long probe are now stored in a secure facility and heavily redacted, the Examiner reported.
Quite the ending for documents that were handled so cavalierly and intentionally, Chaffetz said.
"She was fairly sophisticated," the Examiner quoted Chaffetz. "They created this scheme in such a way that they could bypass this . . . She set up the server on the very day she started her Senate confirmation."
