Lindsey Graham: Worst of Obamacare 'Yet to Come'

Obamacare's gravest effects will be felt when the law's employer mandate kicks in, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham.

"The worst is yet to come. When the employer mandate hits, companies all over this country are going to drop coverage on their employees," the South Carolina Republican told Fox News' "Happening Now" on Monday. "It'd be cheaper to the pay the fine than it will be to cover the employees."

Democrats facing tough campaigns in the midterm elections have proposed a variety of fixes to the problems created since Obamacare's implementation. Graham said the only solution was to scrap the healthcare law and begin from scratch.

"The problem is, [Democrats] want to leave in place Obamacare," Graham said. "To my Democratic colleagues, you can't repair this monstrosity. You've got to tear it down and start all over again."

Graham said solving healthcare issues could take place "without destroying the economy and destroying your ability to stay with your doctor and your hospital."

Americans had lost trust with the White House over misinformation about Obamacare, Graham said. If Republicans win a majority in the Senate in the fall elections, he said, it will be because Democrats "overreached" when they passed the healthcare law.
