Attorney General Loretta Lynch insists she has no conflict of interest in dealing with the investigation into presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server while she was secretary of state.

Lynch told "Fox News Sunday" that "The investigation into the State Department email matter is going to be handled like any other matter. We've got career agents and lawyers looking at that. They will follow the facts and follow the evidence wherever it leads and come to a conclusion."

Lynch said it made no difference that she was appointed by President Barack Obama, and that Obama has endorsed Clinton as the candidate he thinks should be the next president.

The attorney general said she has never spoken with Obama about the investigation. "We've never discussed the Clinton case. I've never spoken about it with the president or really anyone at the White House. That's not the kind of relationship that I have with the people there, and it would be inappropriate to do so."

Just last week a federal judge declared that the FBI is conducting a "criminal investigation" into Clinton's private email server, the first such confirmation refuting Clinton's characterization of the probe as a security review.
