It's "inconceivable" that President Barack Obama didn't know about the growing threat of the Islamic State (ISIS), as the president claimed in an interview on Sunday, Donald Trump told "Fox & Friends."
"He has these people reporting to him. They talk to him all the time. How can they not know? Everybody else knew. Other people over there knew," Trump said Monday. "He doesn't know what's going on as they take over big sections of Iraq? That's inconceivable to me."
Obama claimed on CBS' "Sixty Minutes" that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper "acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria." Trump said that statement followed a pattern where Obama was quick to blame someone else for failures in his administration.
"He's hard to watch. And, constantly blaming other people," the real estate and entertainment mogul said. "His history is that he blames everybody. He doesn't know what's going on."
Obama also claimed on Sunday that Americans would feel better if Congress acted on his policies, such as raising the minimum wage, equal pay for women, and investment in infrastructure. On the nation's economy, the president stated that "manufacturing is coming back to this country."
Trump disagreed, saying the statement was "incorrect." He explained China was "eating our lunch," and Mexico was "doing unbelievably well with our business." Rather than manufacturing coming to the U.S., Trump said industry was "being taken from here."
The U.S. also lacked "spirit," Trump said, adding it was rare when there were reports of good economic news.
"When do good things happen? When have you seen a report where the country's booming? Where we're doing great? Where jobs are great?" he asked. "You don't see that. It's always that we're the ones that are losing."
