By    |   Saturday, 09 February 2013 06:38 PM EST

The newly released “ObamaCare Survival Guide” has rocketed to the No. 2 spot on The New York Times’ bestseller list for advice-giving paperbacks.

This remarkable ascendance comes just one week after the book first made The New York Times bestseller list.

The first comprehensive and easy-to-read road map on the 2,700-page, the “ObamaCare Survival Guide: The Affordable Care Act and What It Means for You and Your Healthcare," has already made Amazon #1 bestseller status in multiple categories with more than 150,000 copies sold.

“It’s very gratifying for me to see this kind of response to the book,” author Nick J. Tate tells Newsmax in response to the book’s rapid climb up the best-seller lists. “It shows that people want to know how Obamacare will affect them specifically, in ways that the administration and mainstream media have not really reported in great detail.”

Tate adds the healthcare law, formally known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, “will fundamentally change the game for consumers and businesses, not to mention doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies.”

“Since the Supreme Court has ruled that ObamaCare’s the law of the land, we felt it was important to let people know what’s in this law,” says Tate. He notes the Obama administration has released a staggering 13,000 pages of new regulations since the law was initially enacted.

According to Tate, the ObamaCare law fundamentally changes the way healthcare is delivered. “The way you will interact with your doctor, your insurer, your hospital will fundamentally change,” he tells Newsmax. “So this book attempts to give you the roadmap to get the best bang for your healthcare dollar.”

“ObamaCare Survival Guide” is of vital interest especially to people who are insured or uninsured, as well as workers, seniors, young adults, business owners, patients on prescription-drug, medical professionals, doctors, union members, as well as those on Medicaid and Medicare.

Among the Guide’s revelations:
  • How currently insured Americans will be affected by rising premium costs and other factors.
  • New rules and funding cuts for Medicare
  • New protections for the uninsured
  • Hidden fees and levies
  • New taxes for the affluent
  • New requirements and tax credits for small businesses
  • New fees for prescription drug users
  • Essential benefits insurance companies must provide
  • Individuals’ responsibilities and penalties under the new laws
  • How to maximize your healthcare dollar on the new plan
  • The costs to consumers
The book details how taxpayers will foot the bill for nearly half of ObamaCare’s cost in the form of new taxes and fees, as well as individual and employer penalties. Most importantly, the book explains how readers can protect themselves against ObamaCare’s harmful side effects.

Business mogul Donald Trump recently endorsed the book, stating: "The ‘ObamaCare Survival Guide’ is terrific. It lays out the truth about ObamaCare. A must read for anyone who is worried about getting good healthcare for themselves or their employees."

“That’s why I think people are picking up the book,” Tate tells Newsmax. “We’re trying to arm consumers with information about what’s coming their way and how they can get the best bang for their healthcare buck.

“That’s going to be particularly important in the year ahead, with dozens of new provisions, taxes, surcharges, penalties, and new requirements on the way,” he says.
