Osama bin Laden's son, Hamza, is urging Saudis to "overthrow" the kingdom's government and "free" their country from American interference.

In an audio message released by As-Sahab, which has ties to al-Qaida, the young bin Laden encourages Saudis to join al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (Aqap), based in Yemen, so they can "gain the necessary experience" to fight, International Business Times reports.

Saudi forces have been pounding the radical group as the kingdom has become a participant in the civil war gripping Yemen.

U.S. intelligence classifies Aqap as the deadliest franchise of al-Qaida, formed in 2009 by al-Qaida branches in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, The Guardian reports.

Hamza bin Laden was groomed by his father to take over leadership of the terrorist organization he had led before his death, and the son has released four messages in the past year.

In July he swore revenge on the United States for the killing of his father in Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2011, saying, "we will continue striking you and targeting you in your country and abroad in response to your oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim lands that did not survive your oppression."

"As for the revenge by the Islamic nation for Sheikh Osama, may Allah have mercy on him, it is not revenge for Osama the person but it is revenge for those who defended Islam," he continued, according to Reuters.

"If you think that your sinful crime that you committed in Abbottabad has passed without punishment, then you thought wrong."

In May, he called for Muslims to unite to "free" Jerusalem, saying: "The Islamic Umma should focus on jihad in al-Sham (Syria) . . . and unite the ranks of mujahideen there,'' Hamza is quoted as saying by Christian Today.

"There is no longer an excuse for those who insist on division and disputes now that the whole world has mobilized against Muslims.''

Al-Qaida and the Islamic State currently hold territory in Yemen, where a civil war has raged since at least 2014.
