A lawyer representing former Fox News anchor Laurie Dhue alleged Tuesday that the network's parent company had not investigated sexual harassment claims and related issues under former chief Roger Ailes thoroughly.

The lawyer, Bruce Schaeffer, said that the law firm hired by 21st Century Fox executives — Paul, Weiss — to probe the accusations in the wake of a lawsuit brought by former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson had not yet interviewed his client, The Daily Beast reports.

"[I]n light of recent news stories revealing, among other things, that former FNC employee Laurie Luhn had to approach Paul, Weiss about her relationship with Roger Ailes (rather than Paul, Weiss approaching her), we wanted to let you know that Paul, Weiss has thus far not contacted us as part of its investigation, which fairly questions the credibility of its investigative process," Schaeffer said in a statement provided to the Daily Beast.

The attorney referenced a July 29 New York magazine report in which Luhn said she had sexually serviced Ailes, 76, for nearly two decades before he fired her job as a booker in 2011 with a $3.15 million payout.

Dhue, now 47, worked on-air at Fox from 2000 to 2008.

"It could be argued that the firm wrapped up its investigation prematurely, limiting the scope," Schaeffer said.

Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of News Corporation, and his sons Lachlan and James, brought in the law firm on July 6, the same day Carlson filed her action against Ailes.

News Corporation owns both 21st Century Fox and Fox News Channel. Lachlan Murdoch is 21st Century Fox's executive chairman and James is the company's CEO.

Schaeffer issued the statement in light of reports that the Paul, Weiss investigation was winding down, according to the Daily Beast.

In response, a 21st Century Fox spokesman said: "Ten days after Paul, Weiss commenced their interviews, Roger Ailes resigned.

"Any suggestion that their work was less than rigorous is simply ridiculous.

"As we've made clear, we take any matter of sexual harassment very seriously," the spokesman told the Daily Beast. "Paul, Weiss remains counsel to us and is dealing with any and all issues as they arise."

Susan Estrich, Ailes' lawyer, did not respond to a request seeking comment on Schaeffer's statement, the Daily Beast reports.
