Kellyanne Conway could be Anthony Scaramucci's replacement as White House communications director, a White House source told The Daily Caller.

Scaramucci was fired Monday after he unleashed a profanity-laced tirade directed at then-chief of staff Reince Priebus and current chief strategist Steve Bannon last week. He was only in his role for 10 days. His ouster followed a week of disarray at the White House where Priebus and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned.

Conway, who started with Trump as his campaign manager and currently serves as a counselor to the president, is known as a public face for the administration who often makes appearances on cable news networks to defend Trump. She has snappy comebacks and is confident and comfortable on television.

Bannon has lauded Conway for her ability to "stand in the breach and take incoming all day long."

"That's something you can't coach," he said earlier this year.

Some critics say she is a spin artist, but she is also one of the major reasons Trump won the election. Conway joined his flailing campaign in August and made history as the first woman to manage a successful presidential campaign.
