A permanent Democratic majority comprised of government handout recipients and other needy special interests is President Barack Obama's goal, and the rationale for everything he's done — or not done — in office, political consultant and
"Power Grab" co-author Dick Morris told
Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"Obama has long since given up persuading the people of the United States that he's right," Morris told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner.

Instead, said Morris, "What he's concentrating on is getting enough special interest constituencies — the African Americans, the Latino-Hispanic Americans, the gay population, the welfare recipients, single women with children … to follow his lead so that it cobbles together a majority, [even] with everybody else voting against him."

Viewed in that light, said
Morris, the president's seeming mismanagement of everything from the economy to voter fraud to illegal immigration makes perfect sense.
"It was not a mistake to advertise amnesty so that 200,000 or 300,000 kids from Central America would show up on our door step," said Morris, alluding to the president's 2012 stay on deportations and this summer's illegal immigration surge.
"Obama's goal, simply stated, is to get as many immigrants and refugees and legal immigrants and illegal immigrants — visa holders, green card holders — into the United States as he possibly can, so that he can stack the deck and win elections in perpetuity for the Democratic Party," he said.
"And he needed to create a humanitarian crisis," Morris continued. "He needed those kids to come. He needed them to pile up at the border, and he needed the distraction they caused to leave the rest of the border open and porous."
Attacking state-level voter ID laws — as Obama has done through his now-departing Attorney General, Eric Holder — is meant to enable non-citizens to cast ballots, according to Morris.

A stagnant economy is another pillar of Obama's strategy, because it helps to create another grateful Democratic constituency, he said.
"Why is the economy so bad? Why is unemployment so high? Why are job creations so slow?" said
Morris. "Because Obama's so stupid in his economic policy? No. Because Obama wants a country that is dependent on government entitlement; he does not want a full-employed country.
"When Obama took office there were 145 million Americans working and 72 million not working," he said. "Now there are 94 million not working and 120 million working. If he can get them … so that nobody much cares about job creation, but they care about their entitlement check on the first and the 15th of every month, he will have a guaranteed majority with skin in the game."
Morris said Obama's larger goal is a fundamental remaking of America along the lines of states that accept a lesser role in world affairs and submit to a socialist global order.
"Because in the long run the best way to assure the dominance of the lower-income party if you will is to make it a global governance," said Morris. "Because if you think middle-class, hard-working, industrious, creative people are outvoted in the United States, look at the world: They're way outvoted [elsewhere], and his goal is to create more and more of a global government.
"And to do that," he said, "you need to reduce the power of the United States and make it just one of a number of nations that then fit into a cohesive whole."
Morris compared the path laid out by Obama to Great Britian's trajectory from global empire to European co-op member.
"And that's his goal with the United States," said Morris, "so that you can create a global governance, knowing full well that leftist, class-redistributionary politics will work best with a global electorate."
It's a new America that Hillary Clinton will happily preside over if she becomes president, which is why it's so important for Republicans to do well in the 2014 and 2016 elections, said Morris.
"The whole world depends on it," he said.
