Megyn Kelly will co-host the Republican presidential debate Thursday on Fox News, the cable network said Saturday.
Front-runner Donald Trump took to Twitter to demand that Fox remove Kelly from the event, to be held at Iowa Events Center in Des Moines:
But Fox responded
in a statement to The Hill and other news organizations that:
"Megyn Kelly has no conflict of interest. Donald Trump is just trying to build up the audience for Thursday’s debate, for which we thank him."
Kelly will co-host the debate with Fox anchors Bret Baier and Chris Wallace.
The trio moderated the first GOP debate in August, after which Trump accused Kelly of asking unfair questions. He has since regularly attacked her.
Iowa holds its caucuses on Feb. 1 in the first contest of the 2016 presidential campaign season.
