Political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV on Thursday that President Donald Trump was "not motivating Mitch McConnell to get it done by attacking Mitch McConnell."
"My dad didn't attack Tip O'Neil," the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan told host Bill Tucker on "Newsmax Now" in an interview. "But if he did, it was with a wink and a nod.
"He's the guy who invited Tip O'Neill to the White House to get things done."

O'Neill, the Massachusetts Democrat who died in 1994 at age 81, was House speaker from 1977 to 1987.
He is the only speaker to serve for five complete consecutive Congresses and remains the nation's third-longest-serving speaker.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly bashed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell this week over the chamber's failure to pass legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare.
"Even though there's a lot of conservatives out there who will deny that they ever had a relationship, the reality of it is my dad and I used to talk about it," Reagan said of O'Neill.
"They had a relationship. They found a way at some point to work together on different issues, even though they were miles apart."
"There is nothing like that today in Washington," he told Tucker. "Until they figure it out, it's going to be just like this one."
