Recently released O.J. Simpson will be holding out for as much as $5 million for his first exclusive interview after his release from a Nevada prison, a source close to the former football player told the New York Post.
"He's not talking for free," the source told the paper. "It has to be the big one because he's only going to do it one time, and it has to be worth his while."
The source named NBC's Matt Lauer, Megyn Kelly, or Lester Holt, ABC's Robin Roberts or Michael Strahan, or Oprah Winfrey as the potential interviewers for Simpson, who served nine years for armed robbery in a prison near Las Vegas.
"He's been away for nine years, but he still knows how to do business," the source added, per the Post.
There were plans to record and document his departure from prison, which happened in the dark early Sunday morning, and Simpson's post-prison options include doing a reality TV show, per the report.
"O.J. has his options open and that venue is something he could even be the executive producer on and have total say-so on," the source told the Post.
"There are companies who have made it known that a television show documenting what he'll be doing, how he'll greet his kids and what's his golf game like, is a viable and potentially lucrative project because people still care, they still want to see O.J. for better or worse."
