President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Friday to denounce a terror attack that took place in London, urging authorities and others to take more "proactive" steps while calling for a "larger, tougher and more specific" travel ban.
"Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!" Trump wrote in a post on Twitter.
British police said Friday that the president's tweets are "unhelpful" given their investigation, CNN reported.
"Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. The internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better!" Trump continued in a subsequent tweet.
"The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific-but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!"
Trump added that the U.S. "must be proactive & nasty" when dealing with ISIS.
"We have made more progress in the last nine months against ISIS than the Obama Administration has made in 8 years.Must be proactive & nasty!"
A home-made bomb exploded on a packed rush-hour commuter train in London injuring 22 people on Friday, police said, in what was being treated as the fifth terrorism attack in Britain this year
Passengers on board a train heading into the capital fled as fire engulfed a carriage at Parsons Green underground station in West London after the explosion at 8:20 a.m.
Some suffered burns while others were injured in a stampede to escape.
Trump's series of tweets comes ahead of a key Supreme Court hearing next month on the constitutionality of his executive order on the ban.
The travel ban affects travelers from six mostly Muslim nations and refugees anywhere in the world.
