Thousands of illegal immigrants are lurking on Virginia's voter rolls, The Washington Times reported.

According to the Times, the state's Loudoun County disqualified 9,000 people from jury duty between 2009 and 2014 because they were not U.S. citizens. Jury pools in the county of more than 350,000 residents come from voter registration lists and driver's license applications.

"The county's 9,000 juror disqualifications mean that a potentially significant number of non-citizens vote illegally in Virginia," the Times reported. "It suggests a basis for President Donald Trump's assertion of illegal immigrants voting in November's elections, though not necessarily by the "millions" he has claimed."

And the Public Interest Legal Foundation has been canvassing election clerks in the state for details on non-citizens purged from voters lists and whether they had voted.

The group has said some clerks do not want to turn over voter information. In October, they issued a report which accused the state of a "cover up" as "thousands" of non-citizens illegally remain on the state's voting rolls, according to the Times.

The group cited information from six counties and two cities and said 1,000 non-citizens were registered to vote between 2011 and 2016 — and 200 of them actually did.

"It is, however, likely that based on discoveries to date, thousands of non-citizens remain registered and eligible to vote throughout the Commonwealth," PILF said.

Meanwhile, the Loudoun figures are a subject of debate, the Times reported.

Gary Clemens, clerk of the Loudoun County Circuit Court, said he assumes all non-citizens in the jury pool came from DMV records. He noted the voter registration form specifically ask if the applicant is a citizen.

But PILF's Logan Churchwell said his group's investigation has found hundreds of non-citizens who answered "yes" on that form.

"The reason we have 1,000 voter registrations who were cleaned up because they were non-citizens is because they lied on that form in the first place," he said.

Meanwhile, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has announced his office discovered a total of total of 385 non-citizens improperly registered in 2015, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Along with similar findings in 2013 and 2015, Husted said a total of 821 non-citizens were identified, with 126 of them having voted in that period, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
