David Horowitz: Democrats to Blame for Inner-City Troubles

By    |   Monday, 25 August 2014 05:05 PM EDT

Republicans have lost the ability to fight the Democratic machine, David Horowitz, founder and president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center and editor of FrontPage Magazine, told Newsmax TV on Monday.

"Republicans just don't have any stomach for the fight," Horowitz — author of "Take No Prisoners: The Battle Plan for Defeating the Left," published by Regnery — told "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"This book is a guide on how to fight. Mike Tyson once said, 'Everybody has a game plan until you punch them in the mouth'. The Democrats have a massive 'punch in the mouth' for Republicans," Horowitz said.

"Every election, every sense that they use is an accusation that Republicans are racists, sexists, homophobes, enemies of the poor, enemies of women and children, uncaring, selfish and so forth. It's a moral indictment.

"Republicans have no punch. They've never morally indicted the Democrats —  although the Democrats richly deserve to be so."

Horowitz, whose California-based group is a conservative think tank, charged that Democrats have controlled every major inner city in the United States for the past 50 to 100 years.

"They have monopoly control over them. Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. Everything that's wrong with inner-city America, where large numbers of African-Americans and Hispanics live, Democrats are responsible for," he said.

"They've destroyed the lives of millions of poor black and Hispanic children by trapping them in public schools that don't teach them, and haven't for 30 years.

"Every year the statistics show that scores don't approve, half the kids don't graduate, half the ones that do graduate are functionally illiterate, and the Democrats will go to the wall to prevent them from getting scholarships called vouchers to get them into schools."
