The Obama administration is guilty of "heartbreaking" anti-Semitism in its treatment of Israel, according to veteran Republican political consultant Mary Matalin.
"The Israelis are the only last [chance] of stability, freedom and hope for that entire region,'' Matalin said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"[It] is otherwise imploding, while our skies are exploding, while our border is evaporating.
"[Israel is] like the safest community in the United States…. [It] maintains that value system and those morals, the respect and dignity of each individual human. That's what the Israelis do.''
But she fears recent criticisms of Israel for its defense against the military actions of Hamas shows a distinct anti-Israel bias.
"The anti-Semitism — and I kind of loathe to call it that but I don't know what to call it — that is having our government mimic the attitude of the U.N. is heartbreaking and it's stutteringly frightening, it really is,'' Matalin said.
Matalin, former campaign director for George W. Bush, and chief counselor to former Vice President Dick Cheney, predicted a positive outcome for Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.
"We are going to have a good midterm. We have a bunch of governors that are doing great things in the states. The cities are doing fine,'' she said.
"[President Barack] Obama and [other Democrats] aren't going to be around for long … in the midterms philosophically, substantively and electorally.
"Nobody in the world fears this country anymore. Weakness invites provocation as my former boss used to say all the time. That's why you see [Russian President Vladimir] Putin behaving the way he is, but you won't see [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu behaving that way.''
