Dick Morris: Ben Carson's Move Takes 'Purity' Out of GOP Race

Ben Carson's inevitable departure from the Republican presidential race will remove "purity" from the campaign, political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"He's absolutely pure," Morris told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "One of the problems with purity is it has no taste.

"You can be satisfied that this water is pure, but it still tastes like water."

Carson said Wednesday that he was ending his run for the nomination, though he did not officially suspend it — saying that he would discuss his future at a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday.

The retried pediatric neurosurgeon kicked off his campaign in May. He won no states on Super Tuesday.

"Carson brought no unique flavoring, no unique brand and no energy level to it — but he is pure," Morris told Hayworth. "We'll miss that."
