Vice President Joe Biden should challenge Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries because "he has nothing to lose," Democratic political consultant Hank Sheinkopf said Thursday.
Sheinkopf told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV that Biden's fiery speech in which he vowed the U.S. would pursue the terror group Islamic State (ISIS) to the "gates of hell," was a taste of the real Biden.

"Joe Biden does mean it. This vice presidency has been terrible for him because he's not been Joe Biden," said Sheinkopf, president of the consulting group Sheinkopf Communications.
"The Joe Biden that served the U.S. Senate was certainly a center and a hawk on defense policy. A strong supporter of the state of Israel, very much opposed to the terrorists and this guy's been hidden for eight years.
"Could he compete against Hillary in the primaries? He should. Why? He has nothing to lose. Institutional players would be happy to see him, him and [Martin] O'Malley, the governor of Maryland, against Hillary."
That kind of competition would likely force the former first lady and secretary of state to drop out of the race.
"Why? If she doesn't have a clear shot, she's probably not going to run," Sheinkopf said.
He added that both Biden and O'Malley have a draw on Catholics in large parts of the country.
Clinton has not declared herself a candidate for the 2016 race, although speculation is she will eventually throw her hat in the ring.
