Gun Group Director: Obama Ups Fight to Tighten Gun Laws

President Barack Obama is accelerating his fight to impose tighter gun laws across the nation, Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, tells Newsmax TV.

"He's into his full Obama. These are the two years he's been most waiting for because he doesn't have to run for re-election anymore and any Democrat running for office isn't going to have to carry any of his baggage because he's no longer going to be running," Pratt said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show"

"First, [he's] trying to ban certain ammunition used in the AR-15 rifle and trying to put financial chokeholds on gun stores through federal regulation.

"Now we're looking at the attempt to gag internet discussion, ammunition, firearms. He's into his full Obama."

But Pratt believes the right to self-protection will win out if Congress acts.

"The House of Representatives has control of the purse and if they would finally do something that they're long overdue," he said.

"They've been allowing the Obama administration to get funding for its entire agenda no matter what, but if they decided that they were going to say no...."
