If Vice President Joe Biden jumps into the 2016 presidential race and picks Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren as his running mate, he's a shoo-in to win the Democratic nomination, Republican political consultant Mary Matalin says.
"The heart of the Democratic Party is with Elizabeth Warren. That would do it for him," Matalin said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on

She added that the
Politico report that Biden leaked his dying son Beau's wish that he throw his hat in the ring to New York Times columnist, shows him as "calculating" and "political."
"[That] is the antithesis of what voters want right now. But actually it would be good for Hillary [Clinton] if he got in," said Matalin, who was an advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney and campaign director for President George W. Bush.
"Because he'd have to run as the Obama guy and she'd be able to run, too. I guess he would try to run to the right of that.
"She's going to lose Iowa and New Hampshire, but then she's going to go turn on the machine when she goes south and she can beat [Sen.] Bernie Sanders. But Biden might give her a race."
