The mother of Sean Smith — the State Department official slain in Benghazi with Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two others, says she continues to be stonewalled by the government on the true circumstances surrounding the deadly Libyan attack a year ago.
Patricia Smith told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV that last year she begged President Barack Obama, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and others to get to the truth behind the violence.
"On the day of the ceremony when they brought the caskets in from Benghazi . . . I begged them, every one of them, if I could please find out what happened, I just need to know for closure," she said.

"Every one of them told me, we will check it out and get back to you . . . They never called me, they never got in touch with me . . . Our country should have the guts to tell you what it is instead of hiding behind everything."
Smith said she has a theory about what really happened, but can't prove it.
"I can’t prove a thing that I do think I know but I put two and two together – and I've had an awful lot of twos to put together, which I did – and I basically know. I can't tell you anything specifically," she told Steve Malzberg.
"I do know that they did not have enough security there, it was begged for, it was asked for many times over, and it was refused. I don't know why it was refused. I would like to know that very much."
Smith said she had a phone conversation with her son before the attack in which he spoke of a lack of security.
"He said, 'Mom, he says I'm scared.' For God's sake, why not give them security? Even people going out in the rain, like Obama, he needs security. He gets his umbrella. We get nothing. Our guys get murdered out there. They get thrown to the dogs," she said.
She also criticized Clinton and said she could not support her rumored bid for the White House in 2016.
"I'm sitting here asking everybody that could possibly hear my voice, don't let that woman be president. She does not make good decisions," Smith said.
