The whole "American moment" that started after World War II is eroding, and that may be by design, says Dinesh D'Souza.
In an
interview with The Daily Caller, D'Souza said the left wants to remake America by downsizing it in the name of justice and fairness.
"Obama calls it 'fair share,'" he said.
"In my opinion, President Obama believes in American exceptionalism. I believe America's exceptionally good and he believes America's exceptionally bad," D'Souza told The Daily Caller's Ginny Thomas.

Obama doesn't equate America's sins with those of the rest of the world, he added.
"If he did, he would be pressing the Chinese to use less energy resources. He would be demanding that they stop buying all the land and minerals in Africa. He would be demanding that they reduce their nuclear arsenal," he said.
The media has joined Obama's "narrative of American shame," he said, where pride is replaced with guilt. If the government wants to take your stuff, you'd be inclined to say no, D'Souza said. But if, over time, you can be convinced that your ancestors took what you have from others, you are more likely to willingly give it up.
All is couched in the verbiage of "progress," he said, but Obama's view of progress might not be someone else's.
"If I am a termite, for me, progress means eating the building and making it fall down," he said.
D'Souza isn't completely pessimistic. He believes more people are catching on to Obama's tactics.
"Even the Democrats are starting to realize something very fishy is going on here," he told The Daily Caller.
D'Souza said the left's method of using government to intimidate their enemies is straight from the playbook of community organizer Saul Alkinsky. They've even been used on him, though he said he isn't intimidated.
D'Souza became a target after writing about Obama and making a film about him in 2012 titled "2016: Obama's America."
D'Souza was charged earlier this year with election fraud, and pleaded guilty for exceeding campaign contribution limits. He admitted guilt and
is awaiting sentencing.
Meanwhile, he has released a book and has a followup
movie set for release July 2 titled "America."
