Americans are leaning more than ever towards support of abortion rights, a new Rasmussen Reports poll reveals.
In a national telephone survey of likely voters, Rasmussen found that 54 percent describe themselves as pro-choice.
Only 38 percent say they are pro-life.
“More voters than ever now identify themselves as pro-choice when it comes to abortion, and most rate the issue as important to how they vote,’’ Rasmussen said.

The numbers represent a small shift from a similar Rasmussen poll conducted three months ago.
In August, a Rasmussen poll on the same issue found 52 percent considered themselves pro-choice versus 41 percent saying they were pro-life.
The latest survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted Nov. 10-11 and has a 3 percent margin of error.
