Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is hosting rallies in two red states – Kentucky and West Virginia – to push against Senate Republicans' bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Sanders announced Wednesday his "Care Not Cuts" rallies will be held Sunday, first in West Virginia and then Kentucky – home of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

"McConnell's legislation, which would throw 22 million Americans off of health insurance, would be a disaster for the country and an even worse disaster for the people of Kentucky," Sanders said in his announcement, the Washington Examiner reported.

"Under the Affordable Care Act, Kentucky has made significant progress in lowering the number of its uninsured people. Further, the expansion of Medicaid there has been of significant help in the fight against the opioid epidemic which has ravaged Kentucky."

Both Kentucky and West Virginia chose to accept Obamacare's Medicaid expansion, the Examiner noted.

The Hill noted Sanders, who has advocated for more progressive healthcare options, hosted similar rallies last month in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia for a MoveOn.org bus tour.
