Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison called Fox News’ Sean Hannity “the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen” during an interview on Hannity’s talk show Tuesday evening.
The diatribe from the Minnesota congressman came after Hannity aired video footage of President Barack Obama giving back-to-back interviews about the hazardous effects of the sequester, played against a soundtrack of “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

Hannity, after welcoming Ellison, then said, “I guess that’s what we can describe as staying on message, something the Democrats are good at.”
Ellison, the first Muslim ever elected to Congress, shot back that Hannity’s musical twist on the president’s remarks on the sequester was “yellow journalism” and “unethical.”

The four-term congressman continued to attack Hannity, accusing him of violating “every journalistic ethic I have ever heard of” and calling him a “shill for the Republican party."
Hannity tried to convince Ellison that he was not a registered Republican but rather a registered conservative. But his guest would not relent, so Hannity told him to “keep ranting.”
When the host finally interrupted, attempting to ask a question that began with, “Is it immoral…,” Ellison snapped, “You are immoral.”
Six minutes after the interview began, Hannity gave up, saying, “Congressman, you are a total waste of time. We’re moving on, because our audience deserves better.”
Later, Hannity said in an email to Newsbusters.org that he was happy Ellison had exploded on national television.
“It is clear Liberals like him and the President are losing it, and frankly I am happy the American people got to see it,” he wrote in the email. “Watching him implode was actually funny to watch. It just shows how reckless, radical, and extreme the modern-day Democratic Party has become.”
