A candidate for the Libertarian Party’s chairman position stripped off his clothes at the party’s national convention in front of live C-Span television cameras during his allotted time for making a speech.

As James Weeks took the stage in Orlando, he said “I figured with all the fun we’ve had today I figured we could use a little bit of fun,” and then backed away from the microphone and starting clapping his hands above his head. He then started to remove articles of clothing, at first to the bemusement of some in the crowd.

However, as the striptease continued and Weeks was wearing nothing but his underwear, The Hill reported that the crowd started to boo as he then announced he did it as a dare and said he was withdrawing from the race.

Many of those in attendance said the stunt was embarrassing and the last thing the party needed if it wanted to be taken seriously in the presidential elections.
