Former Democratic Vice President Al Gore said Thursday that President Donald Trump should "resign" when asked if he had any advice for the Republican now occupying of the White House.

Gore, 69, the former Tennessee senator and 2000 presidential nominee, made the comment to the LADbible website in an interview, Politico reports.

He was discussing his new movie, "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power," and Gore has recently been slamming Trump for his efforts to dismantle Obama-era environmental regulations.

Gore’s new film is a follow-up to his original documentary in 2006, which won an Academy Award, and featured a slide presentation seeking to increase awareness of climate change.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Gore's comment, Politico reports.
