The Americans for Tax Fairness group has launched a website aimed at blocking President Donald Trump's plan for tax cuts, The Hill is reporting.
ATF argues Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations will end up hurting working families. The coalition is a collection of liberal groups looking for the wealthy and corporations to pay their "fair share" of taxes.
The new website, StopTrumpTaxCuts.org urges: "Stop Trump tax cuts for millionaires and wealthy corporations paid for by cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and education."
ATF executive director Frank Clemente said his group is looking to educate the public about how tax cuts could jeopardize programs that people value.
"Our mission here [is] to make sure the public understands that this is a zero-sum game," Clemente said in an interview with The Hill.
The new website is designed to aid those opposed to the cuts in making their points in meetings with lawmakers and at rallies, The Hill said.
"This website should help everyone see clearly what is at stake for them and their families in this tax and budget fight and what they can do to make their voices heard," said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.
Meanwhile, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, R-Texas, expressed confidence Congress will revamp the tax code this year, according to CNBC.
"We are on track to deliver transformational, bold tax reform this year because President Trump and the House and Senate are working together to deliver on that timetable," Brady said.
