Calling for "radical changes" in the White House, Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., ripped President Donald Trump for lacking the "stability" or "some of the competence" to lead the country.
"The president has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to be demonstrate in order to be successful," Sen. Corker told reporters on a Facebook video posted Thursday by Nooga.com's Chloe Morrison.
"And we need for him to be successful. Or nation needs for him to be successful. It doesn't matter if you're Republican or Democrat, the world needs for our president to be successful."
Corker added President Trump, after his multiple statements on the Charlottesville, Virginia, protest violence, "has not demonstrated he understands the character of this nation."
"He has not demonstrated that he understands what has made this nation great and what it is today, and he's got to demonstrate the characteristics of a president who understands that," Corker said.
Corker also called for President Trump to do "some self reflection" to find a better way to advance his agenda and "bring out the best in people of our nation."
"Helping inspire divisions because it generates support from your political base is not a formula for causing our nation to advance, our nation to overcome, the many issues we have to deal with now," Corker said.
Pressed further about the specifics of his White House "radical changes" which "has to happen," Corker said: "I don't speak about different personalities."
"There just needs to be a different approach," he added.
