The editor of a conservative blog said he would vote for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the presidential election despite taking issue with Trump's recent criticisms of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

Erick Erickson, the editor of RedState.com, wrote in a blog post published Wednesday he would support Trump if he were to win the Republican nomination and if Clinton ends up being the Democrats' nominee for president.

Erickson did not agree with Trump's comments about Kelly following the Republican presidential debate two weeks ago, in which Trump took issue with Kelly's questions.

Afterward, Trump said, "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever."

After Trump made the comments, Erickson disinvited Trump from a gathering of conservatives.

"I think he has disqualified himself," Erickson said at the time, adding it was "probably is the beginning of the end" for Trump.

"I have emails from people referring to Megyn Kelly as a whore, I have emails from people referring to me as gay, I have emails referring to the president by the n-word and [saying] Donald Trump is standing up to all of us," Erickson said during the event, MSNBC reported. "We will not gain the White House if we are not going to be happy warriors."

On Wednesday, Erickson wrote:

"Despite the last two much publicized weeks of Donald Trump and me, I stand by my earlier piece that I would vote for Donald Trump if he were the Republican nominee."

"I am the Editor of RedState.com. We have long maintained that we are conservative in the primary and Republican in the general election. If Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, he has my vote."

"Donald Trump would never leave his emails on a private server housed in a bathroom because he does not use email."

"He would never demand money for the Clinton Foundation in exchange for government favors."

"I do not think that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. But if he were, yes, I would vote for him over Hillary Clinton."

Trump said in a recent interview he has a difficult time apologizing, although he said he would apologize if he "were wrong on something."

"People say, 'He won't apologize for anything' — well, I was right on illegal immigration. [John] McCain blew it because he's done a poor job of taking care of the veterans," Trump said. "And then the third element so far, you had Megyn Kelly, and I think you've seen what happened with that."

"I feel quite confident in my position. At the same time, I believe in apologizing. But to apologize for me is very difficult," Trump said. "I definitely would apologize if I were wrong on something."
