Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci quoted a line from "Game of Thrones" in a recent tweet that took a shot at the political establishment.
Scaramucci, who worked in the White House for 11 days before he was fired July 31, had this to say Sunday night:
Scaramucci followed up Monday morning with another message that explained the idea behind quoting a line from the television show:
"Game of Thrones" actor Liam Cunningham spoke with Variety about the speech quoted by Scaramucci and said the scene was filmed the day of the presidential election last Nov. 8.
"That speech that Jon Snow gave about the nature of lies and what's been said, and what happens if we don't stick to our word — we filmed that on exactly the day that a certain POTUS was elected, and it had incredible resonance while we were filming it," Cunningham told Variety.
