With less than one week until Election Day, Kansas independent Senate candidate Greg Orman has a two-point lead over GOP Sen. Pat Roberts, a new poll has found.
According to a
poll by SurveyUSA conducted Oct. 22–26 of 800 adults, including 623 likely voters, 44 percent of those surveyed said they support Orman, compared to 42 percent who said they back GOP incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts. Ten percent of respondents continue to be undecided.

In the same survey released three weeks ago,
Orman had a 5-point lead over Roberts at 47 percent to 42 percent.
"Fifteen separate public opinion polling firms are attempting to make sense of what is happening in Kansas in 2014, and no two of those polling firms agree," SurveyUSA said in a statement.
"Either candidate may win. A narrow victory for Orman or a narrow victory for Roberts would be consistent with these findings."
Despite Orman's independent status, 74 percent of Democrats say they back him in addition to 48 percent of independents, and 23 percent of Republicans. By comparison, Roberts has 67 percent support among Republicans, including 79 percent of the conservative base.
"To win, Roberts will need to do better than 67 percent among Republicans and better than 79 percent among conservatives," SurveyUSA said.
